| Background | ||
| Dry Leaf Appearence: | ||
| Water to Leaf Ratio: | 10g gr of Leaf in 475 ml of water | |
| Brewing Method: | Boiling water - Aria Teapot. I used a little more tea than I normally do because of previous experimentation with this tea. | |
| Wet Leaf Appearence: | Coarsely chopped dark leaves. | |
| 1st Steep | 2 minutes - Smooth, bold, with a shade of green. Has hints that remind me of green peas. Dry, almost sweet, aftertaste. | |
| 2nd Steep | 2 minutes - Smoother, milder, greenness is going away. Dryness is still there but sweetness is gone. Earthy tones are barely starting to emerge. I wish I would have done 3 minutes on the steep. | |
| 3rd Steep | 4 minutes -Smooth, mellow, getting weak | |
| 4th Steep | ||
| Subsequent Steeps | ||
| Conclusion | While this is a black Puerh it tastes a little green like it was not oxidized as much as other blacks. I suspect that this is a black that will improve over time. I liked it enough that I ordered more. | |
