| Background | ||
| Dry Leaf Appearence: | ||
| Water to Leaf Ratio: | 10g gr of Leaf in 475 ml of water | |
| Brewing Method: | Boiling water - Aria Teapot. I used a little more tea than I normally do because of previous experimentation with this tea. | |
| Wet Leaf Appearence: | Lots of large leaf and stems - looks like about a grade 8 leaf. | |
| 1st Steep | 3 minutes - The first thing I noticed was a smooth buttery overtone in this nice dark brew. No bitterness or sweetness for that matter. | |
| 2nd Steep | 2 minutes - Should have gone for 3 minutes. Mild and mellow but almost too mellow. Still very dark liquor though. | |
| 3rd Steep | 4 minutes - Fading fast but still has a good flavor, some faint sweetness now surfacing | |
| 4th Steep | Switched to Gongfu style. | |
| Subsequent Steeps | ||
| Conclusion | Brewed it up Gongfu style and I was more impressed with this tea using that method. I think you need the strength of Gongfu to bring out the flavor in the tea. | |
