| Background | ||
| Dry Leaf Appearence: | Small whole rather dusty leaf. Dusty enough that I chose to do 2 rinses, which BTW was recommended to me by my freinds in Kunming for all black puerh. | |
| Water to Leaf Ratio: | 7 gr of Leaf in 150 ml of water | |
| Brewing Method: | Gungfu in 1505ml Yixing pot. Rinsed tea twice with boiling water for a 5 seconds each time, then let tea stand for one minute befopre steeping. Used Boiling mountain spring water collected at the source. | |
| Wet Leaf Appearence: | ||
| 1st Steep | 1 minute: WOOD, strong wood, hint of dates, sweet nuance in the long finish. | |
| 2nd Steep | 45 seconds: Wood, reed, better balance this time, though the finish is a little shorter | |
| 3rd Steep | 70 seconds: Very nicely balanced at this point, wood, mulch, finish, the works. | |
| 4th Steep | 90 seconds: Another well balanced steep | |
| Subsequent Steeps | I got another 4 steeps out of it before I called it quits. They got lighter and sweeter and they progressed. | |
| Conclusion | All in all a very good Shu Pu. This was a sample tossed in with some other stuff so I am not certain of the price, and his site is down right now, so I cant speak about valuem but it IS good tea... | |
