Background    Guang sent me this tea a while back, a couple of freinds were reviewing 8582s and asked me to review this on as well.

Dry Leaf Appearence:    Tan to dark brownish black. Mostly whole leaf with some stems.

Water to Leaf Ratio:     2.5 gr of Leaf in 120 ml of water

Brewing Method:    Gungfu in 120ml Yixing pot. Rinsed tea with boiling water for a few seconds, allowed damp leaves to sit for one minute after that. Used Boiling mountain spring water collected at the source. I tried a little less leaf than normal this time, just as an experiment.

Wet Leaf Appearence:    Mostly whole brownish leaf with a slight red tint. Aroma of a dmap forest floor.

1st Steep    Boiling water - 20 second steep. Spicey aroma, slight spice in the taste, smooth, wood, slight touch of mulch, light yet extremely interesting finish.

2nd Steep    30 Seconds - sweeter, ever slightest touch of camphor, nice sweetness in the finish. Thick mouthfeel. Slight sweet perfumy aroma.

3rd Steep    60 seconds - More subdued and balanced. Nothing stands on this steep.

4th Steep    120 seconds - Fruit - plum is surfacing, wood, mulch, deeper finish.

Subsequent Steeps    I think I will go back to my 1gr of leaf per ounce of water ratio. The reults of less leaf were disappointing. The tea has plenty to offer. It gave out early simply because I didnt use enough leaf. I got several more steeps out it. WHile it was light up front, the finish never faded. The qi was also strong for such a light steep.

Conclusion    What was noteworthy about this tea was that, even though I screwed it up by brewing too light, the finish was still remarkable.
