Background    The first thing that strikes you about this cake is how aromatic it is before you even open the wrapper. It has a lovely smell all on its own. Its a Very rich and attractive smell.

Dry Leaf Appearence:    The leaves are whole on this cake and only just starting to turn brown. They are easy to break off the cake and keep intact - they are mostly a smallish size.

Water to Leaf Ratio:     8 gr of Leaf in 220 ml of water

Brewing Method:    In a Yixing teapot poured into a western style teacup.

Wet Leaf Appearence:    The leaves are green and mostly intact and rather small. Some buds and leaf systems intact. The leaves are rather small and very healthy looking.

1st Steep    A crystal clear thick dark gold liquid. Rich, slightly floral taste. No bitterness or smokiness. Very easy to drink. Nice aroma.

2nd Steep    The liquid is now a dark gold and the tea's aroma has intensified. The taste continues to be rich and satisfying. It now has a very slight bitterness at the back of the throat which is in no way unpleasant and just adds to the depth of the tea. Quite smooth to taste.

3rd Steep    The liquid is much the same as in the second brew. The taste is a little smoother, but still nice and rich. Leaves a nice coating on the tounge. Slightly tingly on the tounge. Very nice.

4th Steep    Liquor is still much the same as in brews 2 & 3. The tea continues to be smooth and rich to drink.

Subsequent Steeps    I got at least 3 more good brews out of this tea - and it still had more to give but I didn't have any more time to put into brewing more cups that day.

Conclusion    This tea strikes me as being very good quality. The amount of brews I got out of it, for such a young tea, gives me hope for its future and makes me wonder if the leaves are semi-wild? I've only one cake of this, but I'm happy to have it in my tea collection and will be interested to see how it ages given its current strength. This tea is enjoyable already and easy to drink though not terrribly aged as such yet as can be easily seen by how green the wet leaves are.
