Background    THIS TEA WAS PICKED, SUN DRIED, FERMENTED, AND COMPRESSED, WITH PRODUCTION AREA OF BAOSHAN AND WU LIANG.

Dry Leaf Appearence:    THE DRY LEAVES LOOKED CLEAN AND WELL KEPT WITH NO HINTS OF BAD STORAGE. THE LEAVES WERE SMALL AND HAD WHOLE AND BROKEN PIECES.

Water to Leaf Ratio:     10 gr of Leaf in 100 ml of water

Brewing Method:    THIS COOKED PUERH WAS BREWED GONG FU STYLE. THE TEA POT WAS A 200ML CLEAR GLASS POT. THE AMOUNT OF WATER WAS BETWEEN 100ML-170ML WITH A TEMP OF 100C. THE WATER WAS STORE BOUGHT SPRING WATER BOILED IN AN ELECTRIC KAMJOVE CHINESE KETTLE. THE TEA LIQUOR WAS POURED FROM THE TEA POT INTO A GLASS SERVING VESSEL AND WAS STRAINED WITH A METAL MESH. THE TEA WAS CONSUMED IN A 100ML GAIWAN. ADDITIONAL TEA TOOLS WERE A WOODEN CHA DAO SET, YIXING POT STAND, YIXING WASH BOWL, TEA TRAY, TEA SCALE, TEA CUP MATS, AND PUERH KNIFE.

Wet Leaf Appearence:    THE WET LEAVES APPEARED BLACK AND DARK BROWN, BUT WERE NEITHER SHINNY NOR DULL. THEY ABSORBED WATER WELL. THE BROKEN PIECES WERE MORE NOTICEABLE.

1st Steep    10 SECOND WASHING 60 PRIMING 15 SECOND BREW 100C 100ML OF WATER DARK RED LIQUOR/SOUP THE TASTE WAS SWEET, MELLOW, AND VEGETAL. GOOD AROMA. STRONG HUI GAN WAS PRESENT THAT CENTERED ON TOP OF THE TONGUE AND WENT DOWN TO THE THROAT.

2nd Steep    20 SECOND BREW 100C 170ML OF WATER DARK RED SOUP GOOD SWEET TASTE. LIGHT SWEET EARTHY TONES WERE DETECTED. SMOOTHER TASTE THAN 1ST BREW. THERE WAS NOT HINTS OF A VEGETAL TASTE. FIRM HUI GAN THROUGHOUT MOUTH. VERY GOOD BREW.

3rd Steep    30 SECOND BREW 100C 150ML NICE REDDISH COLOR SWEET AND MELLOW AGAIN BUT SOFTER TASTE. THE CHA QI WAS LESS NOTICEABLE. THE SWEET VEGETAL TASTE RETURNED AND THE EARTHY NOTES WERE LESS NOTICEABLE.

4th Steep    60 SECOND BREW 100C 150ML LIGHT RED TO ORANGE SOUP COLOR THE OVERALL TASTES AND STRENGTHS HAVE DIMINISHED BY HALF. BUT THE TASTES ARE STILL SWEET EARTH/VEGETAL. THIS IS GOOD TEA.

Subsequent Steeps    FOUR GOOD BREWS WERE ENOUGH DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF WATER BEING USED. THE AMOUNT OF BREWS COULD HAVE BEEN DOUBLE IF LESS WATER WAS USED SAY 80ML-90ML OF WATER.

Conclusion    THIS WAS A PLEASANT TEA TO DRINK. 10 YEARS OF FERMENTATION LEFT THIS TEA WITH A GOOD SWEET EARTH TASTE. I AGREE WITH THE VENDOR THAT THIS TEA IS AGED. IT IS READY TO BE CONSUMED. THERE WAS NO HARSHNESS IN THIS TEA. IT WAS SMOOTH. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THAT THE TEA DID NOT HAVE ANY SILKY OR THICK FEELING. OVERALL, I RECOMMEND THIS TEA.
