| Background | Hard thick column, used pliers to break off a chunk and it then crumbled easily by finger. Very large leaf, stringy when crumbled. | |
| Dry Leaf Appearence: | Very large leaf, green to dirt brown in color | |
| Water to Leaf Ratio: | 9 gr of Leaf in 475 ml of water | |
| Brewing Method: | Aria Teapot, boiling water. Hard thick cake, used pliers to break off a chunk and it then crumbled easily by finger. Very large leaf, stringy when crumbled. | |
| Wet Leaf Appearence: | Dark, very large, green leaves and smaller very dark brown leaves. Looked odd like the 2 didn’t belong together. | |
| 1st Steep | Boiling water even though this is a green Puerh. Steeped 2 minutes. Rich, creamy, buttery taste with a slight vegetal note and no astringency. Brewed to an amber color like maple syrup. There is a sweetness as the tea cools a bit. | |
| 2nd Steep | Steeped 2 minutes. More butter, less vegetal. | |
| 3rd Steep | Steeped 3 minutes. More sweetness, distinct butter aftertaste. | |
| 4th Steep | ||
| Subsequent Steeps | ||
| Conclusion | Unlike any other Puerh I have ever tried. This stuff is great! Rich and smooth. Stands up to many steeps, as a matter of fact, unless you crumble it extremely thoroughly there will be leaves that are still compressed even after several steeps. The leaves do not immediately absorb water like most other puerhs. | |
